Are we just a cycling club – NO!

And what do I mean by this weeks title, well let me tell you about some of our amazing members, who not only cycle but do various other activities that push them to their limits. Stuart ‘I’m not a cyclist’ McIver proved that even though he has done little training this year for any running events (must’ve been due to Mallorca 🙂 ) pulled off a spectacular run at the Ards half marathon to finish Read more

Development leads to Coastal

The Tuesday, Saturday & Sunday development rides are continuing to prove a success due to the amount of riders we are getting out on each cycle. This was highlighted by the attendance at the NDCC Coastal when we had two very good groups attending the event to support one of the local clubs charity cycle, and by looking through the photo’s and reading various social media sites the club rode strong and had good etiquette Read more

KCC attend Wicklow 200 for the second year

Some must have thought last years punishing climbs and distance wasn’t enough as they returned along with some new victims to compete (even though it’s not a race) in the W200 for 2016. It’s all about QOM’s for our KCC ladies

We must be doing something right at these development rides as our ladies are starting to dominate the local segments by accumulating QOM after QOM, they are holding their own at 20 mph (& even 21) average club runs and even putting in their turn at the front to keep the pace high. We are proud of what the club is and has been achieving lately and these ladies are doing us proud at leisure, Read more

KCC just seems to be getting busier & busier, or it must be the good weather that is bringing out all these new and old cyclist. As a club we accumulated near 8,000 miles in a week (saying that just over half are on our strava, so just imagine what it would be like if every member who uses strava joined in) 17 members lead by Rod ‘Road’ McBride had a few wonderful days in Read more

Week Ending 8th May

Sorry for the delay, however the threat of a kick up the ass by Heather M, has prompted me to get the report sorted. As per previous weekly reports, the club continues to develop and grow due to the amount of various rides we cater and facilitate to suit the needs of members and potential new members. During the week it was the first closed race run by NDCC, were we had four children attending Read more

KCC continues to grow in strength and members as we are inundated with more requests for club rides and applications for new members – We must be doing something right 🙂 We ran our first road race and it didn’t disappoint (well maybe a few of our members) as it drew in over 25 racers, who were placed in order of scratch. The joint A&B group had a 3 min gap on group C, then Read more
