Development leads to Coastal
The Tuesday, Saturday & Sunday development rides are continuing to prove a success due to the amount of riders we are getting out on each cycle. This was highlighted by the attendance at the NDCC Coastal when we had two very good groups attending the event to support one of the local clubs charity cycle, and by looking through the photo’s and reading various social media sites the club rode strong and had good etiquette through the event – WELL DONE ALL who attended as it wasn’t an easy day due to the wind and rain.
Ardscc ran their yearly crit around the town centre and only the Maitland family attended the race were all three finished inside the top 5 in their respective categories. However they did get good support from the Wednesday club as we diverted our route to go and show our support along with Mother Maitland who is the corner stone for the boys 🙂
Thursday was the Kinnings Hill Climb up Croft in Holywood, even though the circuit was 0.88miles, it would prove a tough test for all the riders. Philip McMurray & Andrew Evans represented KCC, with Philip getting the faster time of the two & fastest A4 rider on the night. The event was won by Plush MTB’s Lindsay Watson (who is on fire at the minute)
This Friday 24-6-16 see’s the interclub league hold it’s first closed circuit event at Bishopscourt, this is open to all members of the league and we hope to see all ages of competitors attending this race/fun night – More info on FB throughout the week.
Next Sunday 3rd July is our ladies only charity cycle around Strangford lough. This is one of the few ladies cycles in NI so please keep the date free. More info on CARED NI charity page. Also see flyer further down our home page and feel free to share!
We continue to wish those injured in the club all the best and for a speedy recovery, especially those with broken bones and to Stephen Thompson who has gone through major surgery lately – GET WELL SOON!!
FINALLY
FOR INFORMATION – can we just remind all members and those who follow KCC that ‘Bridge the Gap’ & RnS cycles are not part of this club and the foremost is run by an Ardscc member and RnS is a new club formed in the local area to which we wish all the best 🙂
