This is the second year that we are using Delamont for the Ulster Cyclo-cross series. There will be races for under 6s and upwards (see timetable below). We were successful in the ‘Sport NI Defibrillator for Sport Programme’ and have been allocated an AED (Automated External Defibrillator). This is a sophisticated , reliable, safe computerised device that delivers a controlled electric shock and is used to treat victims who experience a cardiac arrest (when the heart stops pumping and are unconscious). The sun shone and spirits were high for the 5th annual Killinchy 150 Charity Sportive. Almost 300 cyclists descended on the tiny village of Killinchy on Sunday 19th August to support NI Hospice and to raise vital funds for 10 year old local child, Kodi Brown who is currently receiving treatment in Germany for a brain tumour. On Saturday 7th April Killinchy Cycling club ran their 2nd Road race event over the drumlins in the Killinchy area, whilst the hills put a few people off it didn’t stop the brave coming on a grey misty morning to fight for the Balloo Cup won by Lindsay Watson of Powerhouse last year.
