Killinchy CC host their first TT!

East Down Interclub Cycling league between 3 local clubs, La Lanterne Rouge CC, Shimna Wheelers and Killinchy CC. Round 2 of the East Down Inter Club Cycling League got under way on Tuesday evening.  It was Killinchy cycling club’s first time at hosting a time trial, using a new 10 mile course starting at one minute intervals at Shrigley, heading to Darraghcross for the turn and back to Shrigley for the finish. Members of the club have started to use the K150 route as part of their training plans and it’s great to see the numbers picking up on the Wednesday night club run (lets hope it continues) 😉 . Compared to last week, this was a relatively quiet week in relation to club events and competitions. East Down Inter Club League Rd1

The East Down Inter Club Cycling League got off to a great start with it’s inaugural race on Tuesday evening. A glorious warm and sunny Spring day turned into a misty and dull evening for racing. However 32 cyclists competed in the Shimna Wheeler hosted Burrendale-Castlewellan-Burrendale 5.5 mile individual time trial.
