As a the club continues to grow in numbers, it’s great to some ladies becoming more involved with getting out on the rides & putting themselves through the pain barrier to push harder. On Tuesday a few of us went on Marco’s exploration tour around the pennisula and over the ferry route, as he was leaving for home on Saturday morning. Killinchy K150

Back in November 2013 at KCC’s first AGM, we agreed to hold a cycling leisure event.  We were apprehensive if it would be a wise thing to do or not as we were a small club at the time and it was going to be a massive task for those involved to make the event a success. Leading up to the event our club grew in members, we sourced sponsors we never thought we could have, received support from Read more

Killinchy riders at the 10 mile TT Champs!

Church Island Cycling Club hosted the Ulster 10 mile Time Trial Championships on Sunday 10th August 2014 on the A2 Toome course. Conditions were simply horrendous with most of Britain and Ireland under the wake of the ex-hurricane Bertha coming cover the Atlantic. Very heavy rain but with little wind meant for persistent downpours. Of the 100 pre-entered riders there were 82 finishers.  Well done to Killinchy’s Jill McClements and Paul Crossen for braving the Read more

Sunny evening for our 2nd Time Trial!

East Down Interclub Cycling league between 3 local clubs, La Lanterne Rouge CC, Shimna Wheelers and Killinchy CC. Round 6 of the East Down Inter Club Cycling League got under way on Tuesday evening.  It was Killinchy cycling club’s second time at hosting a time trial, and this time we used a triangle circuit starting in Balloo, heading to Ballygowan, turning left along the Carrickmannon road and left again on to the Kilcarn road before finishing at Miller’s lane in Balloo just Read more

Even though the weather has been a mixture of good and bad, some have continued to commute to and from work, so well done to those who braved the elements. KCC had a good presence at the inter-club league again on Tuesday evening with Alan Patterson pipping Paul Crossen to take the win. And also Jill continues to build on her strength on these events, probably so she’ll smoke some men on our own routes Read more

Sorry for the delay as the committee has been very busy finalizing the K150 for open entries on Entry Central. However here goes as to what has been happening over the past few weeks at KCC. The club is proud to announce we have just over 60 members (even one as far as Italy) now with a few females in the mix, and with one in particular mixing it up with the boys on the Read more
