Week Ending 18/05/14
Compared to last week, this was a relatively quiet week in relation to club events and competitions.
However it didn’t stop our very own power house Paul Crossen entering his first 25 mile TT held by North Down CC. Paul rid a very well controlled race and finished a respectable 7th with a time of 1hr 3min. Paul is beginning to build a name and reputation for himself as a very good strong rider and this also helps to promote our wee club within the bigger clubs in the surrounding area.
Drew entered his first A3 race at the Tommy Girvan in Hillsborough, and was it an eye opener. The pace set of very fast, nearly too fast as some fell out the back on the first lap as the average speed was 26mph. During the second lap a break of 11 riders got away, and little to no effort was made to bridge, so they stayed clear until the finsh. Drew came home in the group and learnt not to exert too much energy and keep his powder dry as the races are longer and faster 😉
Finally next week 27th May sees KCC hold their first TT (details on calendar), so if you have a club or open license please come along and test yourself on the Shrigley circuit.
