Thanks to all who made the Killinchy 150 a success!

This may read a little like an Oscar winners speech, but the Committee would like to acknowledge as many people as possible who contributed to the success of the day.   First and foremost, a sincere thank you to all the participants. In total over 350 entrants took to their bikes and covered over 35,000km of some of the finest routes we could find in Co Down. Too many clubs to list came out in force to Read more

Ulster XC Round 4 & A Podium at Titanic Criterium

Round 4 of the Ulster XC was hosted by Banbridge CC in Castlewellan Forest Park. About (what’s felt like) 6 months of heavy rain made the course slippy, sticky and technical in places. This round doubled up as an NPS event so there were plenty of top riders from the other provinces present.   Young Reuben Maitland was first off in the U10’s and continues to move up the rankings each week, this time finishing Read more

KCC man’s little piece of Le Tour

As Andrew Evans watched Andre Griepel sprint to victory in the final stage in Paris this afternoon he was casting his mind back a week to his experience of riding what was to become Friday’s stage of the Tour.   ETAPE DU TOUR 2015. I’m sitting at home one Sunday evening flicking through social media, I see a post that someone has just completed the Etape du Tour. After reading about it and seeing the Read more

Killinchy 10mile TT 21 July

17 Entries for the final KCC held event in the East Down league. It had been a wet day in the Downpatrick/Killyleagh area however with little wind and the roads drying just enough conditions weren’t bad for a decent time. Thanks to Ross for organising all the TTs this year, and all volunteers – it takes 10 people to run this event. Well done to all participants, including good contingents of welcome visitors from Dromara, Read more

“Try a TT” event

Building on the success of our Interclub TT league, we decided to run a 5 mile individual TT for members to see what its all about and give it a go.  The sun shone again on our wee village as 8 TT newbies rolled up at the Ballybunden rd starting line.  The 5 mile course went to Drumreagh and back to Balloo.  Two club TT regulars also gave it a go but unfortunately there must have Read more

Balloo triangle TT

On the 23 June it was Killinchy CC’s turn to host a round of the East Down Interclub League.  The sun was shining and we had a good turnout of 21 riders from Killinchy, Shimna, La Lanterne Rouge and a couple of guests from Dromara CC.  Everyone enjoyed the triangle circuit (I think!!) starting at Ballybunden rd Balloo, heading to Ballygowen, then Carrickmannon before returning back to Balloo on the Saintfield rd. Thanks to all Read more
