Young Drew Armstrong takes crown at EWS

Drew ‘Hill Repeat’ Armstrong, riding for sole sponsor Team MechMonkey Mixxtape, travelled to Glenaly in Co Wicklow during the past weekend to participate in the next round of the Enduro World Series. The 15 year old from Kilmore Co Down practised on the technical Carrick mountain course in glorious sunshine during Friday, only to wake on Saturday with it pelting down torrential rain which made the course completely different and treacherous in place, however this Read more

Busy Bank Holiday Weekend

It all started on the Friday night when 3 of our open road racers headed off to Armagh for the Hugo Loughran GP held by Island Wheelers. All 3 were entered for the A3 main race around the 23 mile circuit which consisted of two laps, however due to road works on the day the race was reduced to 39 miles finishing on the drag up Killylea road. The race started from the off and Read more

Ormeau XC league

Report by Scott.   Today saw the last round of the Spring League at Ormeau Park. Again KCC had kids and big kids in nearly all categories. Our youngest members were first off in the Under 6’s with Max Galbraith and Carter McCullough making his debut in KCC colours. Both boys rode a great race – smiles all round and a goody bag to finish. Next up in the Under 8’s was Cole Galbraith, who Read more

Dirty Reiver 200km off-road adventure ride

Report by Ross: A few months ago one of the regular CX’rs – not sure which one to blame, had an idea of riding this 200km off-road type event around the Scottish border of Northumberland.  The first thing I thought of was 200km, yeah I’ve done that before Wicklow 200 springing to mind.  12000ft of climbing? Mmm, probably Dromara’s old mourne sportive route had around that.  Then I thought about the off-road bit.  The most Read more

Massive weekend for such a small club

Killinchy CC held their first open road race on the 1st April 2017 and with this being a new race on the Cycling Ireland calendar the club were worried that the numbers would be few and it would turn out to be a small affair, however the A4 class was sold out with a reserve in place and the other three categories were well filled with riders travelling as far as Donegal to race. KCC riders earn valuable points

It was another cold, wet & windy weekend for racing, but that didn’t stop our roadies (oh wait hold on it did as Harky pulled the plug & lay in bed), but the others still bore the wrath of the terrible conditions to race in around the John Moore memorial circuit at Carryduff hosted by Castlereagh CC. Both were in the thick of it from start to finish, with the pair of them putting in Read more
