First XC race of the season at Ormeau Park

Last Sunday was round 1 of the spring league in Ormeau park. This is an annual early season league hosted by Xplosive MTB which is aimed mainly at kids racing but there are also support races for the big kids too! This is a great league if you’re thinking of giving XC racing a go, no matter what you age or ability.

It was a beautiful spring day and the conditions in the park where perfect. Killinchy CC had young Cole in the U6s, Elliot in the U10s, Reuben in U12s, Andrew in U14s, Drew in the Juniors, Jill in the Ladies, Keith in the ‘B’ race and Scott in the men’s ‘A’ race.

We had three podiums with young Reuben taking top spot in U12s, Drew 2nd in juniors and first time XC racer Jill a brilliant 3rd in the ladies! Scott just missed out on the podium with a 4th. Really well done all!
