4th annual Killinchy 150 a success!
On Sunday past we had our annual charity cycle, the Killinchy 150. This was the 4th year that we have run this event, picking a charity each year that our members can relate too. This year all proceeds are going to Friends of the Cancer Centre at the City hospital. The weather wasn’t looking good earlier in the week but fortunately things changed and we had perfect cycling weather (and BBQ weather)!
Over 250 riders gathered at Killinchy community hall to take part in one of the three routes. Again this year we catered for all abilities with 25, 80 and 150km routes to choose from.
We would like to say thank you to all the riders and helpers for supporting us and our charity. It was great to see all the different club colours there too. We would also to thank the following for your ongoing support:
Our sponsor the Poachers Pocket Lisbane for the 1st class BBQ and ongoing support.
Our sponsor Chain Reaction Cycles for the mechanical backup, ballot prizes and water bottles.
Killinchy Community Hall for venue.
Killinchy PS and Killinchy Parish Church for car parks.
The Lakeside Inn for the 150 lunch stop venue.
Physio Plus in Comber for providing their services for charity.
Mervyn Stewart Skoda Bangor and Regency Peugeot Ards for supplying the support cars.
The motorcycle marshals.
Lisburn Tri club for the loan of the bike racks.
Plus all the KCC helpers on the day!
For all photos please see Michael Rauch Photography Thanks to Michael for these great pics!
Roll on next year!
