KCC have a new Ulster CX Champion.
Sunday was the Ulster CX Champs in Maghera, were once again the Maitland family was in attendance, and they didn’t disappoint. It was the hardest course this year, however Reuben worked very hard during the 5 lap course to finish U10 CX Ulster champion.
Then it was Scott’s turn to give it his best shot at the hard mucky course that was designed more for the runners amongst the competitors. He was not going to have it his own way this week though as young Sean Bradley from Carn Wheelers was making it a hard fight for the top step on the podium. However Scott battled on and came home a very well deserved 2nd place. Now he can rest for a few weeks before the Irish Champs on the 10th January, were he will hope to make up that one place for the top step to which he is most accustomed to 😉
Sunday also saw some of our runners in the club attend Christmas fun runs
Unfortunately due to Christmas Dinner on Friday night and poor weather on Sunday there was little cycling done over the weekend, however it didn’t stop those aren’t made of candy from heading out and getting in a few miles whilst dodging the black ice and rain – WELL DONE!!
