NI Chest Heart & Stroke Charirty Sportive
Our annual charity sportive will be held on Sunday 08 August 2021 at 9am from Killinchy Community hall.
This is a challenging 100KM route taking in some beautiful County Down scenery. Signs will be in place for those riders who wish to ‘skip’ a hill or two. You will have that option.
Marshals, motorcycle outriders and a ‘broom wagon’ will all be deployed on the day.
Riders can park from 8am onwards in the local area and will be assisted where to park by marshals. We ask that local residents be respected and their property not blocked.
Killinchy Community Hall is open for the purpose of bathroom facilities only this year.
Tea, coffee, fruit etc will be available for this that have registered. There will be a water and fruit stop on the route at the Lakeside Inn.
We ask that all participants adhere to the current Covid restrictions and guidelines. Once riders finished we ask that they disperse and not to congregate in large numbers. Riders have the opportunity of attending Balloo Inn or Poacher Pocket should they wish to relax after the event.https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles/coronavirus-covid-19-regulations-and-guidance-what-they-mean-you
This year we seek to aid a local charity and we have chosen NI Chest Heart & Stroke. Charities have suffered from fundraising in the last 18 months due to the pandemic so all help and support for our event would be greatly appreciated. All money from this event goes straight to NICHS.
Sign on is via the Cycling Ireland portal for all riders. There is NO registration on the day. https://eventmaster.ie/event/WBGeU65i0j?fbclid=IwAR07e3R00CFVKGSfo8RsnDpHF1cm7r7Rhg2RD2CKNfxy7vU048wxk1V66dQ
So come along, meet some new and old friends and enjoy a great day on two wheels on what is a challenging yet rewarding route of 100 km.
