Killinchy GP 2021 postponed
Killinchy 2021 GP – Update.
It is with some regret, but likely little surprise, that Killinchy Cycling Club has agreed to postpone the 2021 Balloo Inns GP. The event, scheduled to take place on Saturday 24 April 2021, is always a very popular, challenging and welcoming event in the Ulster and Irish road racing Calendar.
Understandably with the current restrictions and risk to public health hosting such an event of this nature is not in the interest of the participants, event volunteers or indeed the local community of which we are very much part of. We are aware that Stage 2 of lockdown being lifted may commence on 12 April 2021, however, the Committee have noted that NO EVENTS are permitted within the forthcoming Stage 2 phase and a limit of only 15 cyclists is permitted.
As a Club we very much hope to host the event when circumstances permit, and we will work with Cycling Ireland to secure a suitable date in the calendar.
