MTB success for KCC over the weekend

Published by admin on

As there was no open roadies racing this weekend past, all focus was on the Gravity Enduro (Carlow) and Ulster XC Champs (Castlewellan)
Wee Drew Armstrong along with his dad set off early to take in the long drive down to the 4th round of the Enduro series, were Drew was placed very well with good point during the previous rounds. Drew had good practise runs and seeded well for the event, however on stage 1 he had an over the handle bars experience, but this didn’t deter the wee man who is riding extremely well this session, as he shook himself off and got back on to not only win his category but win the overall event – WELL DONE from all your friends at KCC
We also had the Ulster XC held in Castlewellan (run by BanbridgeCC). KCC had numerous members entered in various categories throughout the classes.
First off was the U8, U10, U12 and so on
KCC’s only podium placed rider was Elliot Maitland who finished 3rd after a very hard race.
It was also Andrew Croskey’s last race in U12 as he will now move up a class & it was Keith Young’s first experience at racing in the champs in S4 were he fought hard to get a top 10 placing – finishing 9th out of a big field of riders.

We’d also like to say WELL DONE to Steve Millership for his Ironman race the week before in Nottingham.

Don’t forget we have our K150 on the 20-08-17 – all details on the K150 link
