Oh, what a night – record numbers attend KCC dinner & awards
As KCC continues to grow, our annual dinner and awards was no exception as we had seventy five attendees taking over the main restaurant area in Balloo House on Friday 9th Dec for what turned out to be a great and very sociable night, with everybody having plenty laughs and giggles which just goes to show how well everybody gets on within the KCC network of friends..
After the delicious 3 course meal that was very efficiently served by Vanessa and her team, the 2016 awards ceremony was kicked off by Scott & Laura, they included the following;
U10 – National XC champion – Elliot Maitland
U12 – Reuben Maitland, Rory McBride & Andrew Croskey – off road plaques
U16 – Best U16 member – Drew Armstrong
On road competition member – Andy McCullough
Best new comer – Johnny Greeves
Most improved female – Pauline Galway
Most improved male – Andy Bishop
(New award for 2016) Off road competition member – Scott Maitland
Club member of the Year (as voted by the members) – Keith Murray
Next was the ballot prizes and without the support of our members, friends and local businesses we wouldn’t have been able to sell ballots and raise £377 for the local food bank charity.
Finally it was onto the fun and keep sake awards with more laughs than our ribs could take with the expressions on some of the winners and the contents of the wrapped up prizes. These awards were received by the following;
Pete Carson, Stephen Dickson, Davy Hawthorne, Drew Murray, Avril Murray, Stuart McIver, Andy McCullough, Joe-Anne Calvert, Henry Quinn, Kathleen Monteverde, Taryn McCoy, Louise Rauch, Stephen McClements, Declan Murray, Johnny Greeves, Darren Rice and Keith Murray.
On behalf of the committee, we’d like to thank all those for attending, Ronan Sweeney for his continued support and use of facilities at Balloo House and as we’ve already said to all those who contributed towards the prizes, however a massive thanks has to go to Laura Wilson for all her hard work in obtaining and finding all the appropriate prizes 🙂
