Cyclocross in the Maiden City
Over 300 including 5 Killinchy riders attended the 4th round of the Ulster CX league at St. Columb’s Park, Lderry hosted by Foyle CC. And what a venue it was! The recent dry weather made for a dry fast 1.6 mile course which included gravel, loads of forest sections, steps, footpath, grass and only a couple of muddy patches. Representing KCC was Reuben and Andrew in the under 12s, Drew in the under 16s, and Scott and Ross in the ‘A’ race. The highlight of the day was Drew’s 2nd place – well done again! Unfortunately Scott is having no luck so far in the series with another mechanical, this time breaking the chain on the opening lap – but I’m sure he’ll be back next week in Dungannon in fighting form. Results on Ulster cyclocross website as well as details for this Sundays race – I see the B race entry is full already proving CX is defiantly the fastest growing cycling discipline in the country from under 6s right up to the over 50s!! Thanks to Foyle CC for running a superb event.
Also well done to Stuarty McIver on completing the Dublin Marathon!
……and just a couple of pics of what regular weekenders were up too #whatagreatweeclub 🙂
