Some were resting after K150, but not Andy McC

After a very successful K150, many riders decided to take it easy and attend a couple of the easier club runs and take a few days off, however this wasn’t the case for Andy McCullough, as he attended the final NDCC closed circuit race (along with Phil Doyle) at Kirkstown averaging over 27mph for the duration of the race. He then attended Jonny’s reverse K150 route on Saturday, however turning off slightly earlier to rest his legs for Sunday as this would be his biggest cycling challenge to date – completing 200miles for charity (and joining the few others in the club that has completed 200+ milers).
Off to bed early on Sat night as it was an 04.00 start for Andy to head off to the start of Lap of the Lough, where he would meet several other KCC members participating in the event, however they all drove there :). By the lunch stop Andy had 101 miles up and just over half way in this quest to complete his challenge, however the 100 miles didn’t seem to bother him as he’d time for photo’s and a chat along the way with many more cyclists.
After the event was over and a bite to eat, it was back on the Venge and homeward bound to get the targeted amount, however it was slightly more challenging as legs were tired and the wind wasn’t making it easy, but he bored and completed 201.1 miles with an amazing 19.1 average. WELL DONE and all for a great cause, with well over the ‘just giving’ target achieved for Cancer Fund for Children. (time of posting £605 raised).
