Spring is in the air

Now the weather is turning for the better, some members are starting to bring out their bling bikes (or in Jonny’s case his new bike). The club had various different runs on during the week, with the return of the Thursday night ride which attracted good numbers on its first outing of the year (maybe it was the invite to The Poachers afterwards).

Friday, Saturday & Sunday saw the biggest turn out for members attending many different rides over some very hilly routes. Our ladies are starting to up their miles and creeping up the leader board on our Strava Widget, is this due to the fact some our heading to warmer climates on a wee cycling holiday lol, in total the club clocked around 5000 miles in one week.

We had 5 brave men who hit nearly every hill around our famous Mournes, they climbed, they suffered, they laughed and they conquered their 100+ miles of super elevation and endurance.

Finally it was back to racing for Scott, Geoff, Wee (Hill Repeat) Drew etc who all attended the first round of the Ulster XC series at Craigavon
Rudi Maitland – U6 fun race = 1st
Gracie Maitland – U10 female = 8th
Reuben Maitland – U10 = DNF
Andrew Croskey – U12 = 9th
Drew Armstrong – U16 = 3rd
Ladislav Honek – S4 = 31st
Geoff Maitland – S4 = 8th
Scott Maitland – S2 = 4th

Well Done everybody
