Week Ending 27-04-2014

KCC had a very busy week in relation to training for the BIBR, interclub league TT racing and road racing.
Paul C & Andrew E once again attended the TT races held by our local neighbours Ardscc. Both riders done very well on the D’dee course, with both achieving personal bests for the 10 miles. It was also great to see several members make the effort to go and support their club mates push themselves to the limit for 20 odd minutes of torture.
Many members used the Easter break to cover more miles than they probably would push themselves to do at any other time, this however is probably due to the fact that the Giro Gran Fondo cycle is only a week away and the push to get some good high mileage runs in was necessary. KCC had over 3130 miles covered within a week and this showed for a small club we are not sitting about just talking about our bikes etc (oh wait Davy H does that), and just think how many more there would be if more members joined the Strava Widget 😉
The weekend saw DCC run their annual 3rd World Charity cycle and 10 members attended this to show our support for this great cause (picture below)
However the BIGGEST achievement of the week was for Paul C getting KCC’s first podium at any race. He achieved this by getting 3rd place (on his new steed – see below) at the Lakeland GP in Enniskillen.
Finally can we as a club say ‘get well soon’ to David D, as he is continuing to suffer from a knee injury that occured whilst away training in Majorca..
