Winter has arrived

For a club with over 115 members it was a relatively quiet week for many. However the Wednesday night club run had 11 out on one of the better nights of the week covering 40+ miles around the lit up roads of Belfast and then splitting for home at Ballygowan.
Unfortunatley due to the strong winds and rain some of the usual weekly club runs were cancelled due to H&S etc, but it didn’t stop the indoor Turbo Trainer warriors doing their wee bit 😉
Saturday brought the start of the weekend and it was also the day for some members to attend Shimna Wheelers Sprocket Course in Newcastle. Scott, Jane & myself attended this very worthwhile course for the future development of children not only in our club but throughout the local community.
The club had no runs planned on Sunday due to weather conditions, however this didn’t stop our mile muncher Stephen Hill as he was seen by several out on his trusty steed a few times during the day. It also didn’t hinder the Maitland family packing up their cars (along with Heathers family lunches) and driving to Londonderry to compete at the Ulster CX series. Young Reuben is continuing to ride stron throughout the league finishing on the second step of the podium, his dad also worked hard with against a different opponent compared to the more local races to finish a very creditable 2nd place – once again well done and the commitment shown by this young family in supporting the MTB racing.
