KCC supporting Vitus bike launch with Sean Kelly at CRC

Published by admin on

A busy week for the club as the committee are working hard to finalise sponsorship details ahead of the forthcoming kit order. More details on that to follow.

Our sponsors CRC held a launch event for the new range of Vitus bikes over the weekend and 9 members went along (without credit cards in case of divorce) to view the range and enjoy a ride out with Irish cycling legend Sean Kelly.

Paul Crossen sent this image of his new, rather dangerous looking Vitus machine. Take a good look now, as the next time you see it, it will be a blur! Health to ride Paul, and well done for a  strong showing of KCC colours in the Phoenix Reliability

On Sunday, the early bird group made a last minute decision to keep the route coastal rather than hilly due to the frosty conditions (Sorry Philip), and headed down the peninsula. A split at Ballywalter saw a brisk group head home  due to family commitments and the rest make the most of the fine morning with a spin down to the ferry.  The Belles and the lazybirds were also spotted around the main roads of Ballygowan/Comber, and Squires Hill respectively.

A late Sunday morning gathering of club members enjoyed the accustomed hospitality at Balloo House while posing for a few promotional shots as well.

Finally well done to one of our newer members for topping the club leaderboard on Strava this week. Great effort Ronan, now who sabotaged Drew’s Garmin on Saturday????

In the incoming week, look out for our regular midweek club run picking up numbers again now with the evenings beginning to stretch, spin classes continuing on Thursdays,  Maryland’s Reliability Trial and the beginning of the XC season on Sunday with the Ormeau Park Spring league – perfect for kids and big kids.
